Cozumel is a world-renowned cruise destination located on the east coast of Mexico. There are two main cruise ports in Cozumel: Punta Langosta and Puerto Maya. Punta Langosta is located in the heart of downtown, within walking distance of many shops, restaurants, and attractions.

Puerto Maya is located on the south side of the island and is less developed than Punta Langosta. However, it offers direct access to the beautiful coral reefs surrounding Cozumel.

If you see Cozumel on your Caribbean Cruise Itinerary, you may be wondering what to do. I was in your shoes, too! I did a lot of research before our trip to Cozumel and ultimately decided that it was an excellent location to visit an all-inclusive beach club. There were a few choices, and I was left wondering, “What is the best beach club in Cozumel?”

After scouring cruise forums and reading cruise tips for weeks, I decided on Mr. Sanchos Beach Club. We were taking 3 teenage boys and 2 adults, and Mr. Sanchos seemed to have a little something for everyone.

A review of Mr. Sanchos Beach Club

Mr. Sanchos is the perfect place to spend a day in the sun. With its beautiful white sand beaches, crystal clear water, and lush vegetation, it’s easy to see why this beach club is a popular destination for both locals and tourists alike.

In addition to its stunning natural setting, Mr. Sanchos also offers a wide range of activities and amenities to keep guests entertained. From volleyball and snorkeling to jetskis and parasailing, there’s something for everyone at this Cozumel beach club.

How To Get To Mr. Sanchos Beach Club

Mr. Sanchos is about 15 minutes from the cruise ports, and 20 minutes from downtown Cozumel.

If you are stopping on a cruise, and want to head to the best beach club in Cozumel, you will need to hire a taxi. It’s simple and safe to do. Taxi fares are regulated, and there will be a sign that tells you what the fare should be. This way there are no surprises. The fare will be based on the number of people. Share a cab with others to get a cheaper price.

💰 Tip: Bring small bills in cash. You cant pay for a cab with your credit card.

The cost is currently $17 from Puerto Maya Cruise port to Mr. Sanchos Beach Club for 1-4 People. $23 for 5 people, and for 6-8 people, it’s $34.

When you get off the ship, walk through the shopping area and out of the port area. There will be lines of taxis there, and usually, one or 2 men will be asking people where they want to go to help get them into taxis as quickly as possible. Just tell them you want to go to Mr. Sanchos Beach Club, and they’ll get you there.

When it’s time to return, you can easily find a taxi outside of Mr. Sanchos. If there is not one waiting for you, the staff will call one for you. Easy Peasy.

How to Book Mr. Sanchos

Mr. Sanchos can be reserved ahead of time or booked at the door. Mr. Sanchos is very popular, and they do limit the number of people per day. It’s best to book ahead of time, so you are guaranteed entry to the beach club when you get there.

The best way to book Mr. Sanchos Beach Club is through Viator. By booking this way, you are guaranteed access to the best beach club in Cozumel and have the option to cancel for free if something changes on your cruise and you can’t go.

There is no rush to get there if you want to take your time. Once you have a pass purchased, you can arrive at Mr. Sanchos anytime. I like to get there early, so I can choose a lounge chair nearest the water though!

Mr. Sanchos Beach Club Packages

One thing that makes Mr. Sanchos the best beach club in Cozumel, in my opinion, is the ability to “build your own” experiences. You can literally go and lay on the beach all day and drink margaritas, or you can be so busy you need a nap afterward! It’s all up to you and it’s easy to manage too!

Here are the options:

Mr. Sanchos – Entrance Only

The price is $12.00 and is entrance only. I would strongly advise against this option. If you pay entrance only, you’ll have to worry about every dime you spend all day. It is so nice just to do the all-inclusive and have access to water, food, and drinks throughout the day.

Mr. Sanchos- All Inclusive

When you buy the all-inclusive package, you will get entrance to their beach club, which has many other amenities.

According to their website, this is what is included with the all-inclusive package, which is what we did.

• All you can eat from our buffet and our menu.
• All you want to drink from our pool bar of frozen drinks, margaritas, piñas Coladas, daiquiris, non-alcoholic drinks, and domestic beer (Sol and XX Lager).
• Two pool bars and a beach section exclusively for All-inclusive guests.
• Beach lounges.
• Use of ocean kayak.
• Hammock area.
• Beach umbrella on your table.
• Locker.
• Restrooms.

When we arrived, we were able to pick out the lounge chairs that would be ours for the day. You can choose to be in the sun or in a more shady area, and there are a lot of areas to choose from. We wanted to be in the front, nearest the water. Luckily, we got there early enough for that to work out. The waiters have specific areas they work in, so you have the same waiter all day. We never had to look for ours. He introduced himself and then kept checking to see if we needed more food or drinks. We ate so much food!

The drinks aren’t super strong, but they are refreshing, cold, yummy, and never-ending! The food was good; we didn’t go to the buffet, but we ordered from the menu throughout the day. There is a separate menu for the pay-as-you-go, but I only have experience with these.

We wanted to chill all day, so we did a lot of lounging around. There are lots of activities you can do if you want for an extra fee. We did 2 of them. My sister just returned, and they did 2 different activities than us.

Just remember that when booking add-ons, you will still need to book your entrance or all-inclusive ticket first!

Mr. Sanchos Aquatic Park

Mr. Sanchos has a roped-off area full of inflatable water toys. I added this package to the boys’ tickets, and not ours. It looked really fun, and the kids had a blast.

Mr. Sanchos Horseback Riding

This is a 30-minute horseback riding excursion that leads through mangrove trees and onto the white sand of the Cozumel beach. This excursion is appropriate for all skill levels.

I haven’t don’t this at Mr. Sanchos. My sister and her family did this and have mixed reviews. The adults didn’t love it, but my tween niece did.

Mr. Sanchos Parasailing

We also purchased the parasailing experience, which was AMAZING. It was beautiful. They take a few people out at a time to the boat and parasail off the shore. We really had a good time with this.

Try to Parasail early in the day if possible. If it gets too windy, they will not take you up to parasail. You can purchase this add-on once you are there. The price is $65 per person for a 12-minute flight.

Jet Ski Rentals

You can also rent a jet ski once you arrive at Mr. Sanchos. The price is $72 for 30 minutes. Each of their wave runners can accommodate 2 passengers. If you have never ridden a wave runner, you should try this; it’s really a lot of fun! Zipping along the Caribbean Sea on a jet ski is a great memory to make!

Snorkeling at Mr. Sanchos

We were able to snorkel right from shore. They have some statues under the water, and they were fun to find while we were snorkeling! We didn’t know ahead of time, so it was a fun surprise!

I wish I had some great snorkeling videos, but we had the worst underwater camera of all time. Next time, I will definitely use our GoPro for snorkeling.

Bars and pools at Mr. Sanchos

There are huge bar areas to hang out in, including a fun bar with swings to sit at. You can also hang out at the swimming pool. There are 2 pools with swim-up bars.

There are palapas to relax in if you need a break from the sun.

Massages at Mr. Sanchos

If you want to take advantage of the spa services and get a massage, you’ll want to head straight to the spa when you arrive at the beach club to set up your massage time.

Shop before you leave

💰 Save some money! Go across the street from the port, and shop the local vendors, they are cheaper than the port shops and you help the local economy

There is some souvenir shopping right out front as well, and the kids had fun for their first time negotiating prices for their goodies. When it’s time to go, there are plenty of taxis ready and waiting to take you back to the port.

We went back about an hour early to wander through all the shops at the port, too. At the port, there are some cute shops and eateries, as well as live music. It’s fun to spend a little time there.

If you only have one day in Cozumel, Mr. Sanchos is somewhere that you can have a blast with your family, your adult friends, or just as a couple. I feel like it was a good value for a stress-free day with beautiful white sand and crystal-clear water.
